About The EMERGERY

The aim is a book – most likely a novella or short story collection. The imagined world is called The Emergery and so the title is finished at least 🙂

Terry PRATCHET MEETS NEW WEIRD

I started this book accidentally… on the train a character popped into my head and he wanted his story told.

All I intended to do was sketch out his attributes but then before I knew it an origin story was appearing before me. And then his current circumstance and strange world around him.

It simply emerged as I wrote, with no planning or forethought. I don’t know if other fiction writers ever do that, but it was surprising and new for me.

So, occasionally, when my mood and alertness align, I sketch out more of this world – primarily because I am keen to learn about it.

About the author

Rob SKELTON

I am primarily a futurist and non-fiction author, and I dabble in ancient history, global cataclysms, inequality, antibiotic failure, odd-travels and politics.

I love fiction, especially sci-fi, fantasy, new weird, literature and hard-boiled crime. In the past I have had some poems published, and I wrote an auto-biography and a screenplay, but the output has been very low.

I live with my partner and extended variations of family in rural Victoria, Australia.
